Power structures are shifting. There is growing concern over the power wielded by media giants and the financial sector, and the fact that women and minorities remain widely underrepresented in positions of influence. Meanwhile, technological interconnectivity is providing the opportunity for a greater range of voices to be heard, effecting changes that can have global repercussions. So where does power really lie today? Who holds it? How is it exerted and how will the balance of power change in the future?

We went to the House of Lords to discuss the key issues surrounding power today with Baroness Helena Kennedy, a criminal barrister and human rights campaigner; Anne-Marie Imafidon, a technologist and the founder of Stemettes, a non-profit organisation that encourages young girls to pursue the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM); and Dr Helen Pankhurst, the great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst and the Senior Advisor to CARE International.
